There were 140 entries – the third highest in 22 years – for the 2014 Wills Writing Awards.
Of these, 75 were in the under 26 category, 41 were in the under 19 category, and 24 were in the under 15 category.
The Trustees of the Martin Wills Memorial Trust are pleased to announce that Jilly Cooper (whose next novel will be set in the world of flat racing) has kindly agreed to make the presentations on Wednesday 16 April. On a later date, she will also be hosting a literary lunch for the under 26 winner, together with Brough Scott, the Chairman of the judges and a Trustee.

The Wills Writing Awards are for creative writing around a horseracing theme by young people.
The Awards are organised by the Martin Wills Memorial Trust, a UK-registered charity. The Trust commemorates Martin Wills, a journalist and amateur jockey who died in April 1992, aged 39.
